Downtown Dallas is an extremely unique city where most bars and restaurants are located away from the center of the city.  Due to the suburbia style of Texas cities, the downtown are has not flourished as many great cities that include Chicago, New York, or San Francisco.  The downtown Dallas area has slowly been rebuilding its community to attract urban style living in the form of hi-rise loft apartments.  In the past couple years, many bars, shops, and restaurants have slowly opened in the downtown area to create urban communities.  Although these communities are nowhere near the Chicago downtown lifestyle, Dallas is slowly moving in that direction as the hub for leading businesses in the southwest area.

There are multiple areas around downtown Dallas to enjoy the nightlife.  Some of the best known bars are O-bar and Ghostbar.
