| The Addison area is situated 12 – 15 miles north of downtown Dallas and contains the largest amount of restaurant and bars per square mile. The majority of restaurants and bars in this area can be found on Belt Line road which runs straight through the heart of Addison, Texas. The Addison area was settled in the mid-1800s when Preston Witt established his residence in the White Rock Creek area. By the 1900s, the town established its name from a postmaster Addison Robertson. By 1902, the first cotton gin facility opened on Addison Road which today has many popular establishments including Sambuca, The Velvet Hookah, and the Addison Airport. | It wasn’t until June 15, 1953 until the City of Addison was incorporated and business started flourishing throughout the area. Today, the Town of Addison houses more than 100 plus bar and restaurants and is often referred to as restaurant row. Addison also has many unique events in the area from the Cavanaugh Flight Museum, Addison Circle Park, North Texas Jazz Fest, Oktoberfest, and Taste of Addison.
Due to the suburbia lifestyle in Dallas, Addison has become a popular location for family members looking for restaurants and party goers ready to hit the scene. The night life generally generates a diverse set of people ranging from mid 20 year olds to upper 30 year olds night after night. Whether you are looking for a couple beers after work or partying all night long, is hard to beat. Some well known bars in the area are Sherlock’s Pub, Logan’s, Blackfinn, and Dukes Road House.
